Friday, November 18, 2005 okie it's with great excitement that i'm writing this post. it may life-changing. who knows..Daddy called home today to inform us he's gotten a posting to South Africa, Johannesburg. The whole family may go over with him for a min of 2yrs or he can go over himself for a year. i'm all for the idea of relocating there, i can't stand studying in singapore nor working here, slogging for life just in exchange for a hse and a car. Having had the experience of 2 years in Tianjin, i really relish this opportunity of immersing in another culture, esp one as diverse as South Africa. No doubt, this transition is going to be much harder than the one in China, with the language barrier, high crime rate but i think there's so much to be learned. I donno what my parents' decision is, i guess their main concern is of my lil' sis in sec1 now. if she goes, she'll come back clueless in time for 'o' levels. doesn't really concern my bro tho, he'll prob study there den go overseas afterwards aniway.. as for me, i'll finish my studies here first alone and den go over to join them upon graduation(maybe get a job in johannesburg!), which would haf implications on my pursuit of double major. oh well, it's really a long shot and i'm so excited from thinking of it all. there's too much planning to do like wot to do w our new car and hse? Worse comes to worst, dad will go over alone but i think he very poor thing leh. alone in a foreign land w no family warmth and home cooked food. just work and work and work.. and we'll visit him like once every few mths. *shrugs* (by this time next wk, we would have come to a decision. Things would happen really fast if we decide to go, plans are slated for 2006 which means only a few mths more..) i wanna go on a safari! i wanna hold a gun! i wanna learn Afrikaan!
